It was refurbished between 2019 and 2022, having been completely repaired from the beams that support the floor to the beams that support the ceiling, including structural reinforcement, thermal and acoustic insulation, electricity, water, sewage, and telecommunications.
The construction work was subject to licensing at the Lisbon City Council and a Housing License was issued in August 2022. This intervention made it possible to combine in a single space the beauty and charm of a building over 100 years old, with the comfort and usability of a modern apartment, with an energy efficiency of B and fulfilling (and far exceeding) the legal requirements for new buildings in acoustic terms.
State-of-the-art construction materials were used, such as Knauf Acustik plasterboard, Isover Tech Slab MT 5.1 rockwool 100kg/m3 or Danosa's MAD 4, Fonodan 900 and Sonodan Plus. Noble materials were also used, from the solid oak flooring and Imperador and white Estremoz marbles, to wall coverings in the bathrooms and kitchen in Linea Prestige Calacatta, by Margrés, and Kitchen countertops in Dekton and Silestone in the bathrooms. All windows are Gealan, PVC and double glazed, with A+ efficiency.
